I am a big fan of hoop earrings--the big ones. My standard hoops are sterling silver and are large, but I really wanted something much bigger.
About a month ago, I had bought a new pair of hoops that are brass and slightly flattened. Their slightly smaller than my silver pair, but I like them just the same as I can coordinate the color with non-silver/chrome hardware accessories and the pair works well with my many fall outfits. I also like that they're not gold or gold tone, which doesn't work well for me.
However, a few weeks ago, I got a tip from someone at my hair salon on where to find those gigantic hoop earrings that I have been pining for for some time now. Two weeks ago, I made the trek to the Fillmore area and found them in a non-nondescript beauty supply store. They were inexpensive so I bought the two different types they sold: a skinny set and a slight fatter set that are hollow to save weight.
I am happy to report that my new humongous hoops are so big that they nearly touch my shoulders, which is exactly what I was looking for. Fortunately, I have super long locks to conceal their large size. Both pairs are my new favorites that I wear all the time, but I prefer the skinnier pair for more dressier outfits.
