Bamboo is hot in more than just the fashion world right now–In fact, it’s also a big hit in the world of home decor. Bamboo is a “green” material, meaning that it’s from a sustainable resource and it requires minimal fertilization or pesticide. In fashion circles, the look of bamboo is being used often in jewelry and now even more frequently in handbags.
Stars like Hilary Duff, Lily Allen and Rihanna (above) are often spotted in their gold versions of bamboo hoop earrings, and bamboo-style bangles are big with fashion stylists such as Andrea Lieberman (who dresses Gwen Stefani and Mary J. Blige).

Gucci has perfected this look in a few different ways including a matte crocodile shoulder bag, a green crocodile handbag, and a tan ostrich hobo. Designer Mary Norton even uses actual bamboo as a trim on her bronze leather tote.
